Re-Sorb is a readily absorbed source of fluids and electrolytes, and can be given to newly purchased or severely stressed calves to prevent scouring problems. When treating diarrhea caused by a virus, the replacement of milk with Re-Sorb for 2 days followed by a gradual reintroduction of milk mixed with Re-Sorb, gives the gastrointestinal mucosa time to rest.

Comes in single portion packets in either packs of 12 or packs of 72 to fit the user’s preference. 

The single portion packets allow for accurate measuring and mixing. 

Approved for use in veal calves. 

Isotonic, containing about the same concentration of electrolytes as body fluid, resulting in rapid and efficient absorption. 

Easy to mix, dissolves rapidly and stays in solution. Highly palatable formula. 

No refrigeration required, even after the solution is prepared.

SPECIFICATIONS

Oral glucose/ glycine compound; absorbed by the calf’s small intestine along with water and sodium to correct dehydration. 

Provides sources of sodium and potassium to help increase water absorption by the small intestine. 

When reconstituted, has an osmolarity of 315mOsm/ kg. 

Store at controlled room temperature between 59 and 89 degrees Fahrenheit or 15 to 30 degrees Celsius. 

This product should not be administered to animals with severe dehydration (down, comatose or in a state of shock.) Consult a veterinarian in these cases. 

Antibacterial therapy is often indicated in bacteria scours due to E. coli or salmonella. This product does not contain antibacterial agents. 

Adequate colostrum intake during the first 12 hours is essential for healthy, vigorous calves.

INSTRUCTIONS

Add the contents of 1 packet (both sides) to 2 quarts of warm water. Stir until dissolved.

Scouring Calves

Feed 2 quarts of Re-Sorb solution made up as directed, twice daily for 2 days (4 feedings). No milk or milk replacer should be fed during this period. For the next 4 feedings (days 3 and 4), use 1 quart of Re-Sorb solution mixed together with 1 quart of milk or milk replacer. Thereafter, feed as normal.
Newly Purchased Calves

Feed 2 quarts of Re-Sorb solution made up as directed instead of milk as the first feed upon arrival. For the next scheduled feeding, use 1 quart of Re-Sorb solution mixed together with 1 quart of milk or milk replacer. Thereafter, feed as normal.
